The vast majority of our graduates find work or further study within six months of graduating, and we offer a variety of innovative, specialised courses. The ability to draw insight and make decisions from data is critical to healthcare providers, government organisations, social media companies, the financial and education sectors, and the entertainment industry, among others.

The BSc (Hons) AI and Data Science (Graduate Apprenticeship) will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to develop a career that uses societally beneficial data science and artificial intelligence solutions to real-world problems like climate change, financial services, or sustainable development.

Informed by both academic research and industrial interaction feedback, this course will help you to learn how to manage, explore, analyse, understand and visualise image, text, or numerical data and apply these skills to challenges in areas such as autonomous vehicles, financial decision making, health diagnosis, or robotics.

As well as technical skills such as software development and machine learning, you will also develop the creative thinking skills required for a career developing novel solutions to the key societal and environmental challenges affecting the world today.

The Graduate Apprenticeship pathway also has an extended focus on data analysis, probability and statistics, maths for data science and data protection and ethics.  All skills that you can immediately apply to your role in industry as you broaden your knowledge and experience.

The MRes, which meets ESRC guidelines, combines broadly-based and subject specific training in research methodologies and transferable research skills. Designed for those seeking to enhance their research knowledge and skills, it is delivered by experienced researchers from across the University.

This format enables cross-disciplinary discussions of research issues and skills whilst encouraging immersion in the University research culture and community. Applied research skills are enhanced through the interactive delivery of the syllabus and access to further research methods training and workshops.

The MRes is designed for those seeking to progress to doctoral level research and also professionals seeking to enhance their research skills and expertise. Graduates can access research and policy work within academia, the public, private and third sectors. A truly flexible programme - you can complete the course in one year through full-time study or over two years of part-time study enabling you to combine work and study.
