Zero Shadow Day 2021 | Astronomical Event 2021

Zero Shadow Day 2021  |  Astronomical Event 2021 : Folk Science Centers have been set up by the Gujarat Council on Science and Technology, Gandhinagar, a sub-division of the Science Department of the Government of Gujarat, under which theoretical and experimental propagation of Mathematics, Science, Technology and Astronomy etc. is carried out in Bhavnagar district.

Bhavnagar Inspired GUJCOST Recognized Welfare Regional Folk Science Center, Bhavnagar has been functioning since 2002. One such celestial astronomical phenomenon that forms twice a year is 'Zero Shadow Day' i.e. twice a year when the sun reaches its highest point in space leaving a few moments of shadow, known as Zero Shadow Day. 

The Earth revolves around the Sun with an axis of 23.5 degrees, which is why we feel the seasons. This also means that the Sun, at its highest point, is in the direction of the Southern Equator (landing).

The event will be held in Bhavnagar on 30 May 2021 at 12:39 PM and on 13 July 2021 at 12:47 PM. In the current situation people can witness this space event even at home and understand the scientific fact behind it with special information will be broadcast live on YouTube channel krcscbhavnagar on Sunday 30th May, 2021 by Kalyan Regional Folk Science Center, Bhavnagar. 

Individuals will have to register their name on the website of Lok Vigyan Kendra, Bhavnagar at www.krcscbhavnagar.org/ current events by 12 noon on 30/5/2021.
